What score do you need to pass the CEH?

The CEH has no single passing score. EC-Council sets a cut score for each exam form, and its certification site puts the range at 60% to 85% (cert.eccouncil.org, as of Oct 11, 2026).

The terms behind your result

Exam form
One version of the 125-question exam. EC-Council runs several, and you do not pick yours.
Cut score
The percentage your form requires, somewhere from 60% to 85%.
Achieved score
Your percentage. The transcript shows it next to the cut score as soon as you finish.
Section scores
Your percentage by area. EC-Council says they have no one-to-one relationship with pass or fail.

Why there is no one number

EC-Council publishes the range and nothing finer: no per-form table, no conversion to a raw count of correct answers. You learn your own form's bar only when the transcript shows it, so a single percentage quoted online is a guess about a form you may never see.

That makes the top of the range the only safe target. The CEH exam format page covers the 125 questions and four hours you get to clear it, and the timed CEH mock exam is where you check whether you do.

Reading the result

Is there a fixed percentage that always passes?

Only the top of the range: EC-Council's certification page gives cut scores from 60% to 85% depending on the form (Oct 11, 2026), and it publishes no single figure.

When do you see your score?

Right away. EC-Council's CEH page says your transcript, with your cut score and achieved score, is available immediately after the exam (Oct 11, 2026). The certification itself follows within seven working days of verification, per the certification FAQ.

Does the CEH Practical use the same cut-score range?

Yes. EC-Council sets the hands-on CEH Practical exam's cut scores per form too, from 60% to 85% (CEH Practical page, Oct 11, 2026).

Can one weak section fail you?

Not by itself. EC-Council's certification FAQ says section percentages do not map one-to-one onto pass or fail (Oct 11, 2026).
