Store prices change without notice. EC-Council says it cannot set minimum prices, so vouchers bundled with training vary by region and partner.

What you pay, route by route

Two routes lead to the exam, and they price very differently. On the work-experience route you pay $100 for the application plus $950 for a remote voucher: $1,050 before any study material, or $1,299 if you want a Pearson VUE seat. The CEH eligibility requirements spell out what counts as two years of information-security experience.

The training route folds the application fee into the training price, and EC-Council does not publish that price. Its training kits, as EC-Council describes them, bundle the exam voucher, a year of eCourseware and six months of lab access; some kits add one retake voucher.

Where to stop spending: the remote and test-center vouchers buy the same exam, $249 apart. Pay the difference only if your home setup cannot pass the equipment check. The voucher's one-year validity and extension rules deserve more of your attention than the delivery choice, because an expired voucher is money gone.

The bill does not end at the pass. Holding CEH costs $80 a year plus 120 continuing-education credits per three-year cycle; renewing CEH lists what earns those credits.

Refunds, retakes and the yearly fee

What does a CEH retake cost?

A remote-proctored retake voucher is $500 on EC-Council's store (Oct 11, 2026), sold only to candidates approved through the retake application. Waiting periods and the attempt cap are on the CEH retake policy page.

Is there a fee after you pass?

Yes. EC-Council charges an annual continuing-education fee of $80, $240 across the three-year cycle, as of Oct 11, 2026.

Do you get money back if you fail?

No. EC-Council's certification FAQ says a failed attempt is not refunded (checked Oct 11, 2026); the next attempt runs on a retake voucher.

Does the $100 fee come back if EC-Council rejects the application?

No. The CEH Candidate Handbook calls it non-refundable, rejection included (as of Oct 11, 2026).
